Update []: The new trailer for Mafia: The Old Country is now live, confirming the Summer 2025 release window.
Original Story: Mafia: The Old Country is set to be a part of The Game Awards tonight, but it appears a YouTube advert accidentally set live early has shared probably the key bit of information from its appearance: a release window. You'll find the video and launch window below, so this is your last chance to click away if you want to catch the reveal as part of the show.

As the end of the capture reveals, Mafia: The Old Country now has a release window of Summer 2025 for PS5. This now means it could release roughly anywhere between May and August next year. The YouTube advert only appears to be a slice of the full trailer, which will debut tonight during Geoff Keighley's show. Do you think Summer 2025 is the right release window for Mafia: The Old Country? Anticipate the full trailer in the comments below.

Any time is a great release for that. Of course, if it is ready since there is trend for releasing not ready games.
I like the Mafia games but they're always lacking in the way of side activities.
My memory is terrible but I'm sure that music was from an advert in the 80s/90s.
Also don't even have to think twice about grabbing this one as all the other Mafia games were great.
Mafia Origins; only next gen 🤤 this has got to be surely the ultimate mafia game
If the game ends up like Mafia 1 and 2 where it's open-world but it doesn't really have much side content, I wouldn't actually mind. An enjoyable Mafia story is all that I need,
I'd wager it's going to be,
Spring - Borderlands 4
Summer - Mafia
Fall - GTA 6
@UltimateOtaku91 where do you think Ghost of Yōtei will sit?
For me it will either be March (if close to being ready for release) or a Sept/Oct release window.
It feels like GTA6 is going to dictate the release schedule of 2025!
@UltimateOtaku91 that actually seems accurate. Borderlands is the only one that might change because of the scale/this one has to hit better than 3.
@ZeD I think Ghost will be in the fall. March right after AC Shadows would be interesting though.
Day one! Absolutely can't wait for this!

@QBGaming12 I don't know. I can see May to July period 2025 like the first one. Perfect for the summer.
@TheArt I'd say the Mafia franchise's biggest issue is bad mission structures. They play out like the very old GTA games. Mafia 3 is fantastic story packaged in a very dull game.
This sucks for the devs being so close to announce it in a few hours.
@ZeD my comment was purely for Take Two's release schedule, but I think Sony will 100% want to avoid GTAs release window. So I think Ghost of Yotei will launch in the summer.
At this point a lot of developers/publishers will be holding off on announcing release dates and will be a huge sigh of relief from them if GTA gets delayed to 2026.
@QBGaming12 April - July would be my guess for Yotei, Hiroki Totoki's comments earlier this year deconfirms January - March (Sony's current fiscal year is April 1st 2024 - March 31st 2025) meanwhile August - December would be too close to GTA6.
I could see a Horizon game release in Fall 2025 though as that franchise always seems to have the worst possible release timing.
@UltimateOtaku91 however you look at it, 2025 could be a very stacked year for games, with GTA6 (potentially) being the cherry on the top at the end of the year
Wow that look really good from that short teaser trailer.mafia is always good times.word up son
@Grumblevolcano For Ghost that would be a great time but I think it depends on what they have for the fall. Horizon 3 isn't for a few more years. The next game is probably the MMO style one.
I'm also expecting something from Bluepoint hopefully so that could change things.
@breakneck that would be a good time. It depends on how far along the game is, also GTA VI which has everyone thinking about when they should release their games.
@QBGaming12 GTA is the big one. I personally think August to October peak purchase season.
Super excited. Mafia’s another series me old mum enjoys and this should hopefully be no different.
@Anke except mafia 3.
Hangar 13 did a very poor job with Mafia 3, but redeemed themselves with Mafia remake. I trust that Old Country won't disappoint.
“between May and August”
Liam you mean summer as in between June 21st to September 21st, solstice to equinox?
@AinsleyE well, the lead writer of Mafia 1&2 is currently making KCD2, so you can always play that if Mafia isn't quite hitting the same 😉
In fact, this is an open invite to anyone who liked Mafia and Mafia 2 to come and play KCD and KCD2, if it's the story and writing you're after 😛
@Ravix I know, I've been following KCD since the Kickstarter and I'm excited for KCD2 but a mafia tale and a story about a war-torn Bohemia are very different. After the Mafia Remake I'm excited for the series again so next year should be great. Mafiia and KCD, what a time.
@TheArt Mafia games are not GTA, they don't lack activities.
@AinsleyE I was just using your post as a springboard to post that comment tbh 😛 But good to know you like both anyway.
I do seem to notice a lot of people saying on Mafia articles how much they liked the writing of the first two specifically, so the more people know that the writer is now the driving force behind another great series (including writing the longest game script ever written for KCD2 😅) the better.
And yes, obviously differences in type of game, but also similarities in their qualities. I too am looking forward to the next Mafia, even if I was a little disappointed it wasn't centered around the creation of the Las Vegas strip. An origin story definitely has draw
Oh. I can't wait for this.
Looks interesting, but want to see more
